Canada East Tour 2006109.JPG - Bishop Laval's chapel was rededicated in 1690 as Église Notre-Dame-des-Victoires when 34 British ships withdrew after a five-day siege of the city. "Victory" singular became "victories" plural in 1711 after a British naval attack was disrupted by a violent storm. When the British came a third time, in 1759, they stayed, and the church was almost completely destroyed by their bombardment.
